Project: The More Creativity Used the More Received

I will educate others on the importance of creativity and how to be confident while doing it. I will do this by hosting 4 workshops starting in the late summer/early fall 2025. I will also host a holiday workshop in 2025. In 2026 I will host two spring workshops focusing on Mothers Day and Graduation. The workshops will be me teaching how to make a keepsake box. This is a product I have worked on over the last three years and people absolutely love them and I’m quickly figuring out they also love to make their own. I sit back and watch people look at these when they open them and often times gasp. That’s what it’s all about! In the previous workshops I have hosted I give them creative freedom. I will suggest ways but I always make sure to explain it is your project as long as you like it that is what counts. I never knew I had a creative mind until early 2021 maybe if I had been encouraged I would have discovered this amazing gift prior to 2021. This gift has brought me so much peace and happiness. I want to continue to inspire others to explore their creative side and listen to their voice within. I often have people ask how I do it and I say the more creativity you use the more you receive. When you love what you do it shows if you put your heart and soul into the project. My goal is to get individuals with like minds and energy in a classroom setting while learning yet having fun. No pressure or judgement while stressing the importance of if you like it is what’s most important. Once you get passed that and keep an open mind anything is possible. I am proof! My audience will be family, friends, and previous workshop attendees.

How will this loan be used? Please provide an itemized list of expenses that will be covered.

I will purchase supplies. I will set a budget of $125 per workshop. The $125 Will purchase, 16 boxes that is $64. I will spend $40 on marketing material more than likely a postcard with all of the information of each workshop and pass them out at one of the shows I attend. Sixteen people is the maximum amount of attendees. I will purchase 16 boxes $64.00 and the remaining $21.00 will be used to purchase paint, brushes and decor for the boxes.

How will your project generate money?

My project will generate money by charging for the workshop and offering up grades on hardware and box sizes in the spring workshops. If I could get the maximum number of attendees the workshop could generate $560 to $640. I have sold out two workshops prior with marketing help. I have ventured out on my own and the workshops are gaining momentum. In fact, I’m hosting workshops in Muncie and Decatur.

When do you expect to be able to repay this loan?

I plan to pay throughout the year after the workshops and have a final payment in the spring of 2026.

I have the experience and have the support. I also rent an artist space and I am able to use the classroom two times a month at no charge.
